NYC.
1 Week.
It has been great! My last hours are kicking in as we speak, and you know what is happening? It just started to rain, I guess the city is crying because I'm gonna leave!
All week the sun has been shining, I borrowed a bike from Jane, a great friend of Luuk's. I have been driving all around, all over Manhattan, next to the Hudson River, across the bridges to Brooklyn and back, circled through Central Park a lot, and completely up and down Broadway, 5th Avenue, Park Avenue and all kinds of beautiful streets New York has to offer.
Not spending too much money has been hard but it kind of worked out, thanks to Jane as well of course! I've met all kinds of cool people through her too, Anabel and me went book shopping and cycling along the Hudson River together, she showed me the Highline, some old metro tracks above streetlevel that were not in use anymore for some time, and have now been reborn as a park to chill! Also she works for WKCR (Columbia University Radio station) she does a great late night Jazz show in the middle of Saturday night.
For cultural purposes I did another Grand Tour of the Metropolitan Museum, must be one of the best around the world, what an amazing collection of see-through all time humans have been around on this planet. Always surprises me that the amount of dutch paintings there is enormous, and you get a total new feel of appreciation because of it.
Klaas, we gotta go here together some day okay?
Days flew by, excuse me for not posting updates earlier, I just present the shortest version here that I am able to provide, thanks to Jane I started keeping a diary but the amount of words in there are enormous, It's just too much to all throw on here directly.
Of course the most important part are the pictures, everyone that uses facebook I advise to look for the pictures there, because I can include comments there which can be informative or funny, or a little of both!
But if you look carefully you can now find a '2010' folder in the 'Reisfotoboek' where you can check out my first biketour pictures of this great sunny week New York.
In a few hours JFK is waiting for me again, and tomorrow morning I will wake up around the sunny Argentina skies, really looking forward to that, and seeing Suus finally again after 2 months of absence!
Miss you all, but enjoying to the fullest.
Haven't decided yet how many updates there will be but I'll try to be more regular than I have been this week, it just depends on what is going on and all.
